Mr. Marty & Mrs. Elaine Saklad

Mr. Marty and Mrs. Elaine Saklad have lived in Providence since their marriage in 1982. Their five children, Rivka, Shmuel, Esther, Yakov, and Chava, have attended PHDS/NEAT, and the three who have already graduated were well-prepared for their next level of education, in yeshiva, seminary and college. They greatly benefited from the warmth and nurturing of the school community.

Mr. Saklad, a 1980 NEAT graduate, attended Touro College in NY, where he became a talmid of Rav Doniel Lander, who is now Rosh Yeshiva of Ohr Hachaim in Queens and Chancellor of Touro College. Mr. Saklad has held many positions on the PHDS board, including Treasurer, Vice President of the Budget and Finance Committee, and President.

Mrs. Saklad grew up in Chicago, where she attended a Jewish day school and the Ida Crown Jewish Academy for high school. She then went to Michlala Seminary in Jerusalem, and Touro College, where she graduated in 1982 with a major in Mathematics and concentration in Computer Science. Elaine has been active in N’shei Chesed and is currently Secretary of Providence’s newest shul, Sha’arei Tefilla. Mrs. Saklad has served PHDS in various capacities; she has been a member of the Fundraising, Education, and Executive committees, served on PTF, and chaired the Amudim Dinner committee.
